DRAGON BALL MUSIC LIBRARY
This project was compiled by Isaac to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Portuguese animation community GoldTugAnime (although there were some delays due to various factors).
I. Original Soundtracks
Unless explicitly stated otherwise (in the Readme.txt file), each of these lossless rips was made by Isaac from genuine official physical discs.
In every single instance, the rip quality was (twice!) painstakingly verified with Exact Audio Copy, AccurateRip and CueTools Database. This is because the error correction features of the CD Audio standard are ancient and very prone to failure.
Extensive metadata based on online databases such as Kanzenshuu and the Japanese Wikipedia (but correcting quite a few mistakes found therein) was carefully inserted and directly checked against the CD booklets themselves. This includes the name and number of each track, the respective artist(s), songwriter(s), composer(s), and arranger(s), as well as info such as album name, release date, and label; in the original language, a transliterated version, and an English translation.
For each CD there is also a cue sheet with the tracks’ ISRC codes, indices, gap info and other data, so that anyone can burn and recreate 1:1 exact copies (yes, with the original Table of Contents’ mistakes and all…) of these discs, many of which are extremely rare and long out of print. (To do this, just run ImgBurn with the madFLAC decoder, keeping all the filenames as they are and each file in its respective folder; then, in write mode, simply open the CUE file and follow the instructions. Remember to use high quality CD-R media!).
However, most of the scans found here are the ones already available online in places like VGMdb; only whenever no suitable cover image (and only the cover) existed was there a reason to scan it.
Excluding the forgettable Dragonball Evolution and the more recent “Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters” singles and Dragon Ball Super (which, of course, you can easily find elsewhere, and this project is focused on the more “classical” stuff anyway), literally all official Dragon Ball songs ever released in Japan are here.

Cool batch. Dragon Ball Z & 2 CD release contains a DVD as well, if memory serves.
boobychan
Holy fuck
SimonCowell
Sweet baby jesus. Thank you very much for this comprehensive upload.
SolitaryFlower
Imagine ripping all this shit and not providing the EAC logs for verification of your rips being actually perfect instead of trash “range” rips. Thanks for the attempt at a good archival level library, not close enough.
AnimeMaakuo
Wow, most of everything (including the $1,000 unreleased Raging Blast 2 CD) that you see was ripped by me nearly 5 years ago, as well as the album scans. The [piece of shit] who is leaking my property without my permission is taking credit for everything; go figure.
How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless child - William Shakespeare.
Monsieur_Realite
@SolitaryFlower This isn’t a batch that they ripped themselves but acquired from downloading off the internet, from various sources.
agncjie
I am speechless. WOW
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You’re my hero
agncjie
@AnimeMaakuo
Chill out dude. These aren’t ur rips let alone ur ‘property’ (lol). Ur not the only guy on the planet with rare Dragon Ball material. Buh ur most likely the only person on the planet to own that material and instead of sharing with us folks decide to ILLEGALLY SELL DIGITAL COPIES and rip-off desperate fans :D. One of the reasons why I love it when treasures like this one or the OBA get out to the public is that autistic hoarders get furious haha… because they can no longer profit off them ILLEGALLY. Go get a real job.
@SolitaryFlower
I don’t see the point tbh. Nobody ever seems to care about those things and besides you can easily fake them. The uploader sounds serious and I can’t for the life of me figure why on earth anyone would waste this much time and not make sure rips came out properly. But you can always burn the CD’s and rip them again XD.
@Monsieur_Realite
The DVD is in the batch. The Kami Best DVD is as well. Damn it got everything!
@OP
Once again, well done! Epically awesome upload you got there!
AnimeMaakuo
@agncjie Relax, I’m just trolling this guy. These aren’t actually my rips … they are much more compressed and smaller. Don’t worry though kiddo, I’ll be uploading the good stuff later today with album scans!
agncjie
They’re not your rips nor are they your ‘property’ haha. Stop being so full of yourself.
If you wanted to keep making money off of the audio that’s too bad. Someone had this collection and decided to share it, now deal with it.
Also I’m anxious to see your ‘much less compressed’ rips, because these CD’s are already lossless. Unless you mean you upsampled them to 192kHz/32-bit like a true n00b (or dishonest burglar) to try to sell them at a premium LOL
AnimeMaakuo
@agncijie It sounds like you don’t want my stuff to be uploaded.
agncjie
Thanks! And I will download and save it to my HDD :D
AnimeMaakuo
@agncjie It will be much better than this, don’t worry.
agncjie
So, regular CD’s upconverted to pseudo SACD’s? Did I get it right? :D
AnimeMaakuo
@agncjie You’ll see! Each folder will have HQ scans from each album, as well as extra content this guy doesn’t provide.
agncjie
Go for it, then! Share it with us folks. I’ll even thank you if you do :D
aizen59
Thank you for sharing this with us, very appreciated !
Ayreon
Amazing and big compilation! Thanks for uploading.
Hopefully this is seeded properly so it serves as a real library for DB music. Pretty awesome.
AnimeMaakuo
Just uploaded my torrent, which is better and includes HQ scans. https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1091984
Hitmonchamp
For what it’s worth, I know the author of this compilation and can vouch for his long-standing commitment to the Dragon Ball fandom. This source is 100% reliable and you are completely safe to archive this release.
Praecentor
Absolutely stunning library… What a gem! Gonna seed this forever ;-)
Trunks-kun
I signed up on purpose just to comment on this thread and share my findings, which I believe may be helpful to others.
I had been looking for old Dragon Ball OSTs for a long time and was ecstatic when I saw this, but then became intrigued after noticing users were discussing this might not be legit, and that the other torrent submitted by another user was better and not compressed. But then again, others were saying just the opposite so, for these reasons, I decided to investigate the matter in depth.
I knew next to nothing regarding lossless CD ripping and so that’s where I started (I’m still not an expert by any means, but I think I got the gist of it right). It seems that the whole set of factors involved in the entire process is one heck of a mess, but that the most popular software for this purpose, ‘Exact Audio Copy’, if run in secure mode, should get you an accurate read under normal circumstances. In addition, there exist two main online databases, AccurateRip and CUETools Database, which gather data from millions of rips from around the world and which allow us to compare some particular rip with rips of the same CD made by other people, and thus determine its accuracy. Now, CTDB is more recent than AR and is able to recognize different pressings of the same CD and account for different drive offsets, meaning that it’s more likely to find matches than the latter; in turn, AR might help in identifying bootlegs (a ‘decent’ bootleg should probably find many matches in CTDB, but appear to be a different pressing, consequently lowering the number of matches, in AR; a crappy bootleg would probably find no matches in either database, or maybe even look like a different CD altogether). I also thought AR’s database was larger than CTDB but, at least concerning Dragon Ball CDs, it looks like it’s the other way around.
Trunks-kun
All of this can be tested with a program precisely called ‘CUETools’ and the results replicated by anyone interested. And so what I found was that the rips included in this torrent and claimed to have been losslessly ripped by Isaac do in fact pass the CUETools test; plus, the remarkable consistency and attention to detail displayed here does strenghthen those claims even more. As for AnimeMaakuo’s CD rips, although I won’t comment on the material of his subsequent torrents, unfortunately things really aren’t that stellar.
I think the best part of AnimeMaakuo’s torrent is that it includes 4 CDs not present in this one:
However, not everyone will care about these. This is because: no.1 is not a Dragon Ball CD properly speaking, but includes songs from different series, with the Dragon Ball ones already being available in the 13-disc Complete Song Collection Box; nos.2&3 are not music CDs and, other than the 2nd DBZ OP & ED songs, they just contain people talking; no.4 is simply ‘Dragon Ball Z - Kakusei-hen’ but with less songs and in a different order.
Trunks-kun
On the other hand, AnimeMaakuo generally has more scans, and at a higher resolution. Nevertheless, not all of the scans are his, and Isaac also has many which he doesn’t (sometimes in higher quality too), for instance, the ones for ‘Dragon Ball Z - BGM Collection’ and the singles. In addition, AnimeMaakuo’s metadata has several mistakes and is much less complete than Isaac’s as well, nor are there any accompanying cue sheets.
Worst of all, though, it looks like many of AnimeMaakuo’s CDs are problematic to say the least (one thing to note beforehand: in order to test the CD with DBZ movie 11’s audio track, I had to create a cue sheet like the ones Isaac included for the other discs; it tested properly in both cases):
Trunks-kun
Trunks-kun
Conclusion/TL;DR: it is clear that not only is Isaac’s library much more complete than AnimeMaakuo’s (way more lossless CDs in addition to numerous video game rips), it is also of much higher quality (all of Isaac’s CDs passed the CUETools check); and of much greater reliability as well, since Isaac explicity indicates everything that wasn’t made by himself, and so we can have even more confidence that his rips are legit. On the contrary, AnimeMaakuo’s torrent contains many rips which for sure were made by other people, and several which are actually quite suspicious and may very well be bootlegs.
Final verdict: you can get the missing scans and the 4 remaining CDs from AnimeMaakuo if that’s your thing, but if you’re looking for the absolute best archival level collection then you must definitely get Isaac’s… it truly is the ultimate Dragon Ball music library. Thank you Isaac and Happy Birthday GoldTugAnime!

@Trunks-kun
Thanks for taking the time to look into the issue and for sharing the info with us
@everyone
I am so so sorry for those who were tricked into trusting Maakuo the Burglar, especially for those who got scammed into paying hundreds of bucks in exchange for bootleg rips D:. Never ever trust that liar again, you’ll regret it when you least expect it.
TrickyRicky
Alright, I did an inspection on both torrents and I corroborate Trunks-kun’s summary. I would also add AnimeMaakuo’s rips of Jump CD #1 and Kakuseihen PRCD to the list of discs that find no matches with CueTools, though I guess that may be due to the fact they’re very rare and nobody addded them to the databases. And quite a few of his scans aren’t perfect either, as they seem to be scans of severely mangled booklets… Not that it ain’t worth to save them on your hdd tho. :3 (I tried commenting there but it looks like the thread got locked. :c)
Anyways, marvellous batch we have here. :3
Lasm
Thank you very much. Finally we can have the “Ore ga Yaranakya Dare ga Yaru” single from the Movie 13 in real FLAC, plus many other rare soundtracks.
God bless you sir, GOD BLESS YOU.
