In 1999, an alien ship crashes on South Atalia Island and makes the human race aware of other life in space. Ten years later, the ship is reconstructed and christened as the SDF-1 Macross. Encoded from 30th Anniversary JPBD with English subtitles by BunnyHat. Dual Audio: Japanese (Stereo FLAC), English (Stereo AAC). English Audio is from the R1 DVDs by ADV. I had to re-cut the English audio for the first episode. The DVD have a prologue before the OP but the BD plays the prologue after the OP. Luckily the prologue is all narration so it shouldn’t matter if it slightly out of sync (which it probably is since It doesn’t match the subs) but everything syncs back up by the 4-minute mark.
In an interesting note, Mari Iijima voices Lynn Minmay in both the 1981 Japanese dub and the 2005 English dub. That might be the only a time a voice actor has been in both the English and Japanese language releases of an anime especially with that much time having passed in between. That said the English dub is unspectacular–but still infinitely better than Harmony Gold’s butchered release.
I would appreciate any help seeding.

Thanks!!!
I did read the Mari Lijima voiced Lynn in both English and Japanese. Of course, her Japanese is much much better :D
Especially the songs!
Thanks for this!

Thank you (´∀`)

i think you should redo this because the bit-rate is just too low for a classic, and to make it even worst, the de-graining make it less entertaining

You had me at de-grained <3 <3 <3

I didn’t de-noise it. The original film wasn’t preserved well so when they mastered the BD they made an effort to clean it up–as most productions do. For the most part it looks fine but there are a few scenes with heavy noise, and numerous scratches throughout. As well as the many animation errors for which Macross is well known. Episode 17 (the recap episode) was especially rough, which is why its file size ballooned.

the audio in english dub has that low bitrate noise in the background, idk how to call it other than that swishing sound could it possibly be on my end for using VLC?

hi, is the 10-bit 720p version better than this quality wise?

I don’t mind honorifics, but “sempai”? Really?
