##Sora no Woto
Description largely carried over from https://nyaa.iss.one/view/193154 and https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1189992
Well this is a heck of a time to find out that this happened. Someone went through, moved the subs to a better video/audio source, added signs, and fixed a translation error in the original Elysium I missed.
The nerve.
I would recommend swapping from this release to theirs, either https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1413603 or https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1468174. At some point I want to go through and take a diff between my script and theirs, just to really see what’s different.

Once again, this is just the Elysium release that was made available back in 2011, but with a few changes to the subs to fix some nagging issues. The same changes from before are here, but I changed a few other things after comparing it against the PWQ release, which is better for some lines. Off the top of my head, the following changes were made:
Again, I appreciate the patience in waiting for this.

I’m only posting this here because you asked for feedback, it’s honestly an amazing release and I’m not sure any of these “”"“mistakes”""" warrant a v3. Also you released it just in time for this year’s rewatch.
Thanks so much!

Sorry for delayed response. I did think about 1 at the time, but decided against changing too much. I’m sticking to my guns on 2, since that’s what his name appears as in Ep 13. My german is pretty bad, so if I were to do 3 then I’d need a reference for the specific lines; either that or to just blank out those lines of dialogue. 4 is something I actually should have changed, but missed.
And I’m still sorry about being so late this year. Work, plus my general difficulty in working from home, kept me from getting to this until I could clear up a few days for it, regretfully only near the end of the year. If I did do a V3, I think I might wait another year for more criticism to roll in. I think if I were to do it, I would want to also think about using a different video source, like the recent GERMini release (but I also don’t really know much about video encoding or what makes that release superior).

Greatly appreciate the people willing to put the final bit of polish on an older release, thanks!

FYI, if you’re planning on swapping to the Holomux/Senjou releases, don’t.
They might have fixed the line on EP 13 and supposedly some signs (wasn’t able to find any) but the audio/video source on the NotElysium release is better in every way.
No idea how they managed to get their release up to 22 GB, but it definitely wasn’t by using a better video source.

Oh goodness. Well, first of all congratulations on predicting my cycles of hibernation.
Second, I’ll still probably watch them now that I’m off work for a full week, to try and make an evaluation. The scripts themselves can probably be compared in about 10 minutes in something like bcompare (I hope). Maybe I can be obtuse and use git to show me the differences.
Third, for the actual video quality, I’m willing to bet this is an ancient issue. More than likely, the Senjou release is actually closer to the original BD contents (sadly, while I have a physical copy, it’s only DVD quality). But the original Elysium release was possibly an upscale of some sort. Somewhere, sometime years ago, this idea was planted in my brain. Probably in one of the watch-along threads on /a/. Honestly I can’t prove it, I barely know japanese (and honestly I barely watch anime, thanks to my annoying cat that won’t let me sit alone for more than an hour).

I think you are correct, Sora no Woto was originally produced in 720p (at least according to anibin, but that was standard back then and largely still is, so there’s no reason to believe otherwise) therefore the Japanese BD release is an upscale and so is Elysium’s release, only they did a better job than the people actually getting paid to do it, heh.
Still, I’m curious to see how the script has been changed as the new subs can be used with Elysium’s superior video.

So, I’m sorry. I did mean to do this, but a few things popped up that kept me from getting to it on time. I will still try to get to this, but I do apologize for being unreliable here.
I hope you guys enjoyed the yearly watch along though. I had a fever knock me on my ass, so I’m going to have to do my yearly rewatch away from the rest of the group :(

Haha now i dont know which to get. Yours, Senjou or Holomux’s.
I remember Elysium’s being really good, hmm…

Reuploaded the comparison between this and other releases because the old website died.
