**Note:** This release corrects the green tint issue on the source with a proper DCI-P3 to D65 white point correction. **Note 2:** Styled subtitles are tonemapped to 60% white for proper display in HDR and they will appear grey on SDR displays. Change the style in your player if you need them full white or use the included SRT subtitle track. Thank you most based sir
Well my penis is hard now
Thank you! Hopefully some kind person will make a 100mb 4k encode for EndlessMaria too.
@PeePeePooPoo69 Why do you always have to be so corny??
Because I can afford it.
@PeePeePooPoo69 Do you realize that the cost is your dignity?
sir this the comment section of an anime torrent website. why would you care about dignity
Watched through this evening and it's all perfect 👍 Great HDR in the finale especially.
Kind of small to be honest. 4K and less than 30GB. Cringe
So like, the 4K version appears to be darker on my computer and I'm not sure why. Even the thumbnail in my file explorer is darker since they're the same image. Is this something to do with the settings on my computer? I don't have a 4K monitor. Only a 1080p and a 1440p one, but figured I'd download the 4K version even if it gets downscaled. Is it something to do with HDR? Just curious since I assume this is something on my end.
HDR looks dull when viewed on a SDR screen without tonemapping. If viewed correctly, it should appear slightly less greenish compared to the regular 1080p BD. mpv-based players should automaticly tonemap HDR to SDR if your screen is SDR.
"proper DCI-P3 to D65 white point correction" how to do it? i want to encode 1080p HDR Ver.
There is a lut.cube file you can encode with. The link has expired now, will post a new link later.
@An-Land HDR LUT - https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/509593369442517018/1052266813024645160/super_hero_4k_fix.cube
@pukulan10jurus make sure you use the new LUT, the previous LUT was for an SDR Rec.709 conversion and is not applicable to the 4K Blu-ray.
Thanks for the heads up! Wouldn't have known otherwise. Can you maybe tell me as much as possible about how this LUT was made? Maybe knowing some values could help me in my attempts at fixing the DoVi.
@pukulan10jurus So I tried on both MPC and VLC and the colors are still darker/dull. Is there a setting I have to go in either in those players or in my PC to make them tonemap?
I don't know if VLC can do it. Mpc can do it through madVR. And yeah, that requires changing some settings. SMPlayer should do it by default and is also a better video player than both of those. ;-)
You need to tonemap to 100 nits if you're trying to match the brightness of the SDR version - the default tonemapping in most players isn't very good at doing that. For some reason, even setting 100 nits in MadVR was introducing strange posterization. MPV handled it perfectly with the following in the config: --vo=gpu-next --hwdec=no --tone-mapping=bt.2446a --gamut-clipping=no --target-peak = 100 That said, the SDR feels overly bright to me - most obvious on Piccolo's skin, so maybe try something less aggressive.
@KingOfBunnies The 4K version looks dark on my computer as well. The frame rate also dips significantly to the point where it's pretty much unwatchable. I'm not sure why as I have a 2018 macbook air equipped with a 2020 M1 chip that claims to have an HDR display. The display isn't 4K, though. However, I don't see why that would be a problem as it plays DBS Broly in 4K perfectly fine. Also, I'm using MPV player.
Anyone have a player recommendation that'll play this file the way it's intended to be viewed?
