It's really brilliant, I don't think there's ever been such a politically loaded anime as this.
The manga publication started in 2014, but it perfectly encapsulates modern day Germany (that's where I live, I'm sure you can draw parallels to most "western" countries). As i'm watching, I am constantly reminded of current events, but I'm also struck by my mundane life just dragging on while i'm witnessing the prelude to what's likely the next great war through my phone - just like the characters are in the show
