ダウンタウンのガキの使いやあらへんで!! 2017.01.03 絶対に笑ってはいけない科学博士!一挙大公開SP!! \[1080i\].mp4
Software encode this time. 1080i as it should be. I see there was some salt from Team Gaki as I apparently stole their thunder, but regarding interlacing there are three options:
1\) Deinterlace to 30fps. Completely moronic as you'd be throwing away half the fields and motion will be jerky.
2\) Deinterlace to 60fps. I've never really liked the quality of any deinterlacing filter and you'd be changing the picture irreversibly. That is to say, if hardware deinterlacing improves in the future (and it has in the past), you won't benefit from it at all.
3\) Encode as interlaced and leave the 60 fps deinterlacing to the player program or hardware. This is clearly the best option, so that's what I'm doing.
So: Use a proper player that does 60 fps deinterlacing automatically - such as MPC-HC - or select Linear or Yadif 2x in VLC.
